WHAT IS METALLIC EPOXY?
Metallic Epoxy is an enhanced version of Conventional Epoxy. Conventional Epoxy is mainly found in carparks, factory floors, etc. Whereas Metallic Epoxy is specially used in Residential & Commercial areas to beautify the space, giving it the benefits Conventional Epoxy lacks.
Unlike Conventional Epoxy (generally Two Layers), Metallic Epoxy is a unique Five-Layered Epoxy system that primarily incorporates metallic pigment powder (or mica nanoparticles) mixed into a clear epoxy. This mix allows for a homogeneous blend, producing an exotic-looking lava-flow or pearlescent effect after installation.
The metallic pigments move through the Epoxy as it cures and can be agitated with a paintbrush or roller to create effects such as swirls, ripples, craters, or waves. There are 4 main finishings to choose from:
- Gloss – This finishing provides adequate protection against scratches and impact while showcasing the colors and effects of the design well. The smooth surface allows for effortless cleaning and maintenance. It is recommended for residential usage.
- Gloss Anti-Slip – Like gloss, it offers more traction and higher scratch resistance capabilities. It is recommended for both uses in residential and commercial spaces without compromising its ability to showcase the design’s colors and effects.
- Matte – Provides excellent protection due to its thick and gritty characteristics. It is recommended for residential and commercial use due to its robust and durable nature. (Only available for art panels and countertops)
- Matte Anti-Slip – Similar to matte, it offers the highest traction and scratch resistance capabilities. It is highly recommended for extremely high foot traffic or wet environments.
